The ground under the orthodontic profession has been gradually shifting over the last 10 years. Much of that change has been driven by technology and its impact in the orthodontic practice and on consumer behavior. That change has gathered momentum in the last few years and soon the predominant way to move teeth will be digital and not analog. How did we get here and where is this going? Align CEO Joe Hogan shares his view on the opportunity ahead for orthodontists who embrace change.

Please don’t go out and hire an associate before seeing this presentation because you likely don’t need one!
11:00-11:30: The PROPreneur Process: Mastering the CEO Strategies for Your Practice with Dino Watt
Being a great doctor AND a successful business owner is hard work.
Where were the “How to be a CEO” courses in dental school??
Why does it feel like industry experts teach the same thing, wrapped in different packages and hope for different results? Isn’t that the definition of insanity?
Times have changed and traditional approaches are outdated.
Today’s practice owners must master the CEO strategies so they can outpace and differentiate themselves in their market.
This is what we call becoming a “PROPreneur”- a master in your profession + a badass in business.
Success in the new economy requires a strategic combination of working from your genius, benevolent alpha leadership and savvy, entrepreneurial thinking.
Learning to incorporate C.O.R.E. foundations to your practice is essential.

2:35-3:05: Lessons From a 7415.3 Mile Road Trip with Glenn Krieger
Albert Einstein once said: “The only source for knowledge is experience.” Running an orthodontic practice allows us all sorts of experiences; good and bad, fun and stressful, isolating and communal. Everything we learn stems from our life experiences and the goal of this presentation is to highlight lessons from 25 years of clinical and managerial experience in the dental field. Attendees will learn ideas to make their practice lives less stressful, more profitable and predictable and feel better by walking in the footsteps of those who have already successfully traveled the same path.

4:10-4:55: In Search of the Holy Grail of Orthodontics: 15 Years of Introspection with Neal Kravitz
At the culmination of his search for the Holy Grail, Indiana Jones entered of the Temple of the Sun, where he came across the first of three challenges to test his worthiness for eternal life. The clue for the first challenge was that “only a penitent man will pass.” Dr. Jones would have to show humility by kneeling in the presence of God to avoid losing his head.
After 10 years searching for mastery-the holy grail of orthodontics, I too have learned that humility is required to advance. Unfortunately, I have also learned that humility is best taught through humiliation. In this highly personal presentation, I will reflect on my professional life since dental school. I will focus on topics of far greater importance than closing the consult or marketing. But I promise it will be the best presentation that I will have ever given. In life, “choose wisely.”

Every dental practice has seen a patient leave a bad review online on Google, Yelp, Facebook or one of the other 120 websites that collect and republish feedback from your patients. A perfect dental practice isn’t one with perfect reviews, it is one that deals with reviews perfectly. One of the most common questions dentists and their teams have is what do they do when they receive a bad review from a patient. Many feel like they are being attacked and their emotions vary from anger to embarrassment and perhaps some as even depression but don’t worry negative reviews are going to happen. The patient may be having a bad day, a team member said the wrong thing or the insurance did not pay as much as expected and thus the patient owed more than you anticipated. One negative reviews isn’t going to shut down your practice, but the way you handle negative reviews will set the stage in moving forward and improving your practice’s customer service and online reputation. In this 1 hour seminar you will learn techniques to help you solve negative reviews and earn better reviews, increase production and get more new patients.
In this course, Dr. Leonard Tau will cover:
- Why online reputation is important ?
- How online review websites work
- How to handle negative reviews?
- How to create systems in your office to get patients to leave feedback for you?
- How to monitor and manage your online reputation?
